Ladies of the Outing Club!! Do you love camping? Do you want to get your BP2 rating? Do you want to do both while meeting and hanging out with a great group of gals? If so - this is the trip for you!

This will be a trip for ladies who are just being introduced to the activities of Hoofer Outing Club, or looking to build a new community within the club that they already love! This will be a learning-based, introduction to backpacking trip, where participants will gain skills such as packing a backpack, cooking over a camp stove, pitching a tent, and taking care of yourself in nature (including female-specific issues). Along the way we will enjoy some great scenery and fresh air.

Katie Moe and Annie Eggert will be leading a two night beginner backpacking trip in Governor Dodge State Park Friday, October 13th to Sunday, October 15th. We will depart from Memorial Union on Friday afternoon and returning Sunday afternoon. All meals and transportation will be included - however priority sign up will be given to those with a car. 

You will need a sleeping bag, sleeping pad, backpacking backpack, appropriate clothing for hiking and sleeping in ~40 degree weather, and good hiking boots or tennis shoes. Sleeping bags, sleeping pads, and backpacks are available through Outdoor UW for rental.

HOW TO SIGN UP:

In order to give everybody a chance to read this event posting, sign up will not open until 5:00PM on WEDNESDAY 9/20. At or after this time, please use Venmo to send the trip fee of $50 to Katie Moe (Venmo username: @Katie-Moe-1). Payments submitted before 5pm on 9/20 will not be accepted (this is for fairness to all interested participants). There are 10 participant spots on this trip - the first 10 people to submit the trip payment will join the trip. If more than 10 people submit a payment, it will be returned via Venmo promptly.
