Hello Hoofers!
This lesson will focus on open canoeing. We will review all the land based lesson information including lake rules, care and use of equipment, and sign-out proceedures among other things.
The water based portion will cover the features of canoe crafts, proper entry and exit, and strokes.
I will be offering swim tests before and after the lesson depending on what the needs are of the group.
Meet outside the boathouse at Memorial Union at 3:30 pm. Come prepaired with proper clothing to paddle in. Water shoes/sandles and sunscreen are recommended.
*A canoe lake lesson gives members the proper rating that entitles them to paddle quietwater.
