Pictured Rock Backpacking

Join us on a weekend getaway to the beautiful Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore!

Itinerary

We will be hiking 18 miles along the bluffs of Lake Superior on our keyswap backpacking trip! We will be heading up Friday morning around 8:30am. From there, one group will park at the Beaver Basin Overlook and hike about 4 miles to camp at the Trappers Lake campsite. The other group will drive to the Log Slide parking lot and hike about 3 miles to camp at Au Sable East. Groups will meet at Twelvemile Beach for lunch on Saturday, swap keys and head to the other groups’ campsite, about 11 miles. We will arrive back in Madison on Sunday evening.

Trip deposit: $65

Deposit covers campsites, permits, food, rental cars and gas. Be sure to bring some extra money for food on the drive up and back as well. This will be collected in two separate deposits:

• Deposit #1: $48 collected at sign-up

• Deposit #2: $15 due to Kristin Fischer via Venmo (@Kristin-Fischer-20) immediately after sign up.

No backpacking experience required! A BP2 rating may be earned after successful completion of the trip.
