Come join Hoofer's trail-building crew for the
Ice Age Trail's last Mobile Skills Crew event of the season, at Hartman Creek!
For those of you who don't know, the Ice Age Trail is a glorious stretch of
1,000 undulating miles of awesomeness.
We'll leave Friday night (10/16) around 4 p.m., build trail on Saturday, and return Sunday afternoon (Sunday is a half workday, although we typically finish early). It's about a two-hour car ride to the site. This is a beginner-friendly trip! All you need to provide is some warm layers of clothing and a sleeping bag. The club has tents, sleeping pads, and work gloves for you to use, and the IATA provides everything else you will need including instruction, food, a place to camp, and a fire to sit around at night (plus, I hear there’ll be live music!)
You'll need to complete the online registration (http://www.iceagetrail.org/event/mobile-skills-crew-trailbuilding-event-portage-waupaca-counties/) so the cooks know how much food to make (i.e., A LOT!) When you're signing up on the IATA website, please be sure to indicate in the "Questions or Comments" field that you are with Hoofers. That way they'll assign us to the same working group! We'll be taking one of the vans, so IF YOU ARE VAN CERTIFIED, PLEASE LET US KNOW ASAP BECAUSE WE NEED A DRIVER!!!
Finally, be sure to sign up for the trip by the sign-up deadline: October 10! Once you sign up, keep an eye out for an e-mail from me prompting you to fill out a Google Doc. Hope to see you on the trail! J - Event Type
