Interested in possibly kayaking the Apostle Islands, island hopping in Door County or crossing any larger bodies of water in a sea kayak?
If YES, then this is the class for you!
We'll go over how to conduct crossings in manner that reduces risk by crossing lake Mendota from the Memorial Union to Governor's island.
This is an intermediate trip, not a beginner trip and a SK1 or higher is required.
-Meet at the Union at 4:30PM
-We'll hit the water at about 5pm after talking about the risks of crossing large bodies of water and how to reduce those risks.
-the crossing is 3 miles one way, 6 miles total, assuming we travel 3 to 4mph, the trip should take about 2 to 3 hours.
-Pack a dinner in some tupperware or bring something to munch on as we'll be paddling over what is customarily dinner time. Bring water! Sun glasses and a hat are recommended.
