Wausau whitewater - Sunday edition

Tricia and I are co-leading an intermediate-level whitewater trip to the Wausau Whitewater Park ( www.wausauwhitewater.org ) this Sunday (7/19). To participate, you should have at least an R3p rating in a canoe or kayak, and a working roll. We will accommodate a couple of aggressive R2s who have lots of river experience and who either have a roll or are comfortable swimming, provided they agree to spend their time getting playing the features closer to the bottom of the course. The water is released through the course from a dam beginning at 10:00AM, off at 4:00PM. The trip leaders/organizers will not be providing rides, although are willing/able to transport up to 2 additional boats by request (please e- mail us directly, first come, first serve). Participants need to bring the standard 6 pieces of whitewater gear (5 if canoeing), some food, a water bottle, money to pay for use of the course (see above web site for details), and ~$15 to pay their driver if carpooling. Free camping is available at the course for those who choose to drive in with Dan York's group on Saturday, and stay and play thru Sunday.
