Let's get a big group of Hoofers to ride the Door County Century up on the Door Peninsula!
This is a supported road bike ride through Door County, with well-stocked rest stops every 15 miles and very little elevation change. The "century" offers route options of 28.5, 50, 70 and 100 miles so this trip is extremely beginner friendly, although you should be comfortable with spending a few hours in the saddle. TO PARTICIPATE YOU MUST REGISTER THROUGH THE DOOR COUNTY CENTURY WEBSITE -- Cost is $60 before May 31st, so register early!
The plan is to leave on Saturday September 12th and spend a night camping at a nearby state park. We'll cook a big dinner, make s'mores, and have a great time. There's a big Italian dinner after the ride on Sunday, so we'll stick around for that before driving home to Madison that night. Total cost for dinner/gas/campsite will likely be ~$20-30 depending on number of participants.
My car can only take a few bikes, so if you are willing to drive some Hoofers and their rides up to Door County, please let me know so I can open more spots! - Event Type
