5.     Water Safety Code: Any revisions proposed?

a.     Cold water boating? Specific requirements or guidelines to add to code? Generally I’d propose adding a full skill and leadership rating for most trips (that is, a trip that in summer might require R2 and WW2 would require R3 and WW3

in cold conditions. I’d suggest some guidelines, not strict requirements, since once you’d get to R4 runs we clearly can’t require higher ratings.

b.    Credit for external skills and leadership training? Door County Sea Kayaking Symposium, ACA training, others?

All HOC members are welcome to attend and contribute to the discussion. Only Water Safety Board members are eligible to vote on matters before the board, such as leader promotions, water safety code changes, and selection of the water safety chair.

Dan York, Water Safety Chair
