Event Information

Description

Everyone signed up for the trip to leave on Friday should be at the Orchard ST Circle, on the southeast corner of UNION SOUTH, at 7 pm Friday evening. You should have eaten your dinner, and you should have warm clothing, water bottles, a warm sleeping bag and your own tent if you said you do not need a club tent. If you indicated a need for a club tent or sleeping pad, I will have those things for you. We are breaking out our new, awesome tents. You'll be camping in style. Please bring $5 for gas if you are a passenger. We can stop in the town of Lodi for adult beverages if anyone wants some.

The trip is in a fluid state with people adding in late. But, we have plenty of drivers, so we will figure out drivers and passengers at the circle Friday evening. Yeah! This is how Hoofer trips used to work! I'm liking this! A retro trip, to build awesome trail at a very pretty site that is close, not far. Sounds perfect.

Jeff N will be driving up Saturday morning, so he is on his own.

As for the rest of us, I've had a crazy week (which is why you are just now hearing from me), as have some of you. I may end up needing to come back Saturday night after dinner, but maybe not. We have plenty of cars so we can easily accommodate everyone's desires to camp Saturday night or not.

I apologize for not making the meeting last night when I wrote that I would be there. Had an emergency, and it couldn't be helped.

See everyone at the Orchard St Circle Friday evening, or Saturday in Lodi.  Any questions, send them my way.

The Ice Age Trail Alliance is hosting the first large-scale trailbuilding event of 2014. We will head up to Lodi (about 45 minutes from campus) for this Ice Age Trail Mobile Skills Crew Event, where we will work again on the trail segment at Gibralter Rock.

Depending on how many vehicles go, we can stagger departure and return times, so please go ahead and sign up if the times currently listed do not work for you. For trip announcement purposes, plan to go up Friday evening after work, and return Sunday, either morning or early afternoon. I will determine exact times once we have feedback from everyone using a Google Doc.

Please sign up here on the website so that you get the e-mails that will be going out either late today or Monday (4/14). You will be sent links to sign up for 1. free  food and camping with the Ice Age Trail Alliance and 2. the Google Doc so that I can coordinate Hoofer drivers and passengers and figure out times. If you aren't signed up here, you will not get the links. You will also get a gear list and suggestions on what to wear.

We have two brand new tents for camping and pads to go under sleeping bags, but you will need to provide your own sleeping bag. The club does not provide sleeping bags. Given how cold this spring has been, please try to bring a bag that is good to at least 30 (if not 20) degrees. I have some extra gear I can lend, so ask if you need something.

Deadline to sign up will be Thursday, 4/17 at 5pm.
