Winter Carnival Ski & Snowshoe - Volunteer Sign-Up

Lake Mendota has frozen over and Winter Carnival is happening!

Come join the Hoofer Outing Club in cross-country skiing and snowshoeing across the lake to Picnic Point for a bonfire, hot chocolate, and great company!

As exciting as this event is, it unfortunately can't run itself. I'm looking for a few, dedicated volunteers to help with:

1) lighting the path and bringing supplies to Picnic Point, and starting the bonfire (Fire Circle #1, at the very tip! - outdoors)

2) helping fit cross country skis (Mendota Lounge/Hoofer Gear Room - mostly indoors)

3) helping fit snowshoes (Mendota Lounge/OUW Office - mostly indoors)

4) helping people get started on skis or snowshoes (Mendota Lounge/Lakefront - mostly outdoors)

All volunteers will meet at 6:30pm on Thursday January 31st in the Mendota Lounge. We will talk briefly about the evenings events half an hour prior to the events beginning, then break off around 6:45pm to our respective positions. The SnS Nordic Team has also offered to help us out some!
