Event Information

Description

This is a quiet water paddling trip to Crystal Lake near Lodi Wisconsin.  We will look for migrating birds and the changing of the season into fall.

To go on this trip you will need a canoe lake lesson and the provisional/or standard swim test in canoe.  If you would like to sea kayak you will need an SKO rating and the standard swim test.

Bring snacks if you would like, water, and sunscreen.  Wear shoes that stay on and can get wet, and clothes that can get wet in case of capsize.  Bring extra layers in case it is a chilly day.  Bring extra clothes to change into in case you get wet.  Bring something you can stash things into in your boat to keep them dry such as a dry bag.  As the day gets closer we will know more about the weather for that day.

You will need to bring money to share in the cost for gasoline and $2 for boat user fee ( this is for trips off of Lake Mendota and used for boat maintanance) and money for dinner at a restaurant on the way home.  If the group would like we can stop at Culvers in Middleton.

Let me know if you can drive and carry boats on your car.  What you would wish to paddle canoe or sea kayak ( you would need the appropriate rating)?  We can open up the trip to more people if we get enough drivers that can carry boats.
