We are going backpacking in Isle Royale National Park in Lake Superior! Come along for good times, awesome lake views, and a good chance at seeing a moose. This is a BP3 trip, so there is a chance to earn your BP3 rating. A BP2 rating or higher is required.
Aug 27: Leave Madison 9 am, drive to Twin Lakes State park in the UP.
Aug 28: Ferry from Houghton MI to Rock Harbor, Isle Royale. Hike 7.1 mi to Daisy Farm Campsite
Aug 29: Hike 6.1 mi from Daisy Farm to Chickenbone Lake East
Aug 30: Hike 10.9 from Chickenbone E to Lane Cove
Aug 31: Hike 6.9 from Lane Cove to Rock Harbor
Sep 1: Ferry at 9 am from Rock Harbor to Houghton, drive back to Madison
The trip deposit will be $330, this covers the $110 cost of the ferry to the island, plus car and gas, food, and permits. Please fill out the info form linked below when you sign up.
