Event Information

Description

The Baraboo river is a nearby stream with fast current, eddies and occasional rock gardens, with considerable wildlife, flowing through historic and scenic downtown Baraboo. This is a great place to refine your river reading and boat steering skills while enjoying the Wisconsin outdoors. This is also an opportunity for those who know how to steer a canoe or kayak on flat water and want to advance their rating so you can lead your own trips. You will need to have passed the swim test and taken the kayak or canoe lake lesson, and be confident in steering a canoe or kayak on lakes.  Boaters will need to wear clothing and footgear that get get wet, and will be wearing club helmets and floatation vests. Bring a towel and dry clothing to change into at the end of the trip.. Bring snacks and water to eat at the put-in or along the way, and money for share of gas costs, and maybe a meal on the way back. If you have a vehicle that can transport a canoe or kayaks, let me know and I can expand the signup
