Backpack the Northern Kettle Moraine Ice Age Trail

Looking for a fun backpacking trip before finals. Want to eat trail food that's significantly better than the dining halls?

Come backpack on the Ice Age Trail Kettle Moraine Northern Unit!

Trip cost covers all meals, transportation, and campsite reservations

Schedule

Friday, April 27th

4:30pm Meet at Memorial Union and drive to the Northern Kettle Moraine

7pm Arrive at Northern Kettle Moraine, shelter 5 parking area and hike .3 miles to site

Camp at Backpacking Shelter #5

Saturday, April 28th

Hike ~8 miles on the Ice Age Trail and the Parnell Tower Loop, Climb the Parnell tower (enjoy beautiful views)

Camp at Greenbush Group Camp, site 8

Sunday, April 29th

Hike ~2 miles back to vehicles and drive back to Madison

Arrive back in Madison prior to 1pm

Gear

All group gear is provided by Hoofers

Personal Gear (backpack, sleeping bag, sleeping pad) are required but can be borrowed from the club or rented from outdoor UW
