Yellow River State Forest Iowa Backpacking Trip

We will be going to Yellow River State Forest in Iowa for 2 nights of backcountry camping. The deposit for this trip is $60 and can be paid via venmo (Aidan-Roberts2) or in person with cash. This is a begineer trip (BP2), no prior backpacking experiance is required. The itinerary for the trip is below. Leave at 3:30 ish tentative

Arrive at 6:00

Option A - Hike in like ½ mile ish to Camp Glen Wendell

Trails: Forester Trail

Option B(ackup) - Car camp at Big Paint campground

April 21

A: Hike counterclockwise to Hefferns Hill camp (10.2 Miles)

Trails: Forester Trail-> Browns Hollow Trail->left on Donahue Road-> left on Firetower

Trail->left on Road Oak Trail loop->left back onto Firetower trail->right on Saddle Trail loop->left

to Hefferns Hill camp 

On trail by 8-8:30

April 22

Hike back to car (5.5 miles)

Trails: Hefferns hill loop -> veer right ish to Shortcut Trail -> left on Bluff trail->Right on

Paint creek trail-> left on white pine road!!-> car 

On trail by 8-8:30, leave by 1, back to Madison by 3
