Saturday weather is predicted to be 50+ degrees with mild wind. So its time to go on a quiet-water sea kayak trip to WARM Lake Columbia which is about 40 miles north of Madison. Lake Columbia is a man-made lake for a billion-watt coal-fired power plant on its N shore and is heated to 75F by waste heat from the plant. We will meet at the boathouse / Park street circle near the hoofer lounge at 11 am to load boats. We hit the water around 12:30 pm and paddle for about 2 hours or so, look for deer, geese, ducks and maybe an eagle or heron, then return to Madison by 4 PM. Kayakers will need a SK0 or better rating. Wear footgear that can get wet. Best to bring extra clothing just in case. Maybe a lunch or snack, and water, and a few $ for gas. If you want to drive and carry a boat, let me know and I can expand the signup.
