Event Information

Description

Ever wondered how the club stoves work? Want to learn how to fix most problems you may encounter with a WhisperLite or similar liquid fuel stove? Or maybe you're just someone who likes tinkering! Come learn how the stove converts fuel to flame and how to fix it when it doesn't

We will be spending about 30-45 minutes after the Tuesday meeting to cover how to use and pick stoves as well as help keep our equipment working longer.

Stuff that will be covered

— The club's stoves and what types to use for different situations, car camping and backpacking stoves

— Safe stove operation

— Stove disassembly and maintenance

— How to tell if your stove is actually broken

I'd highly recommend that prospective leaders attend, or current leaders who are in need of brushing up on these skills, but I'd encourage anyone who's ever used — or plans on using — the club’s stoves (just about everyone!), and if you think you're familiar with stove disassembly, any help is welcome with instruction. Feel free to come with questions or email me (Wesley Wakai) at wwakai@wisc.edu. Everyone's welcome so come and get learned
