I COULD REALLY USE HELP FROM OTHER INSTRUCTORS TO ADMINISTER THE SWIM TEST, so we can do it quicker than one person at a time. I can open this to more people if I get another instructor.
The swim test is set up to make sure everyone is safe and ready for more adventures on waters outside of Madison. You will need to pass the test to go on most whitewater, sea kayak, and canoe trips. The requirements are modest, so if you're familiar with water it shouldn't be an issue. Just make sure you bring a change of clothes!
Please meet at the Memorial Union boathouse ready to swim at
4:30 pm.Edit: due to coordinating with a participant, I would like to move this to 6:45 pm instead of 4:30. I will be helping with the 'what to do with a swamped canoe' event at 5:30 pm! Find me there, and I can do a swim test at any time before the 7pm meeting!

Requirement for the standard swim test: swim 100 yards and continue to remain afloat for a total of five (5) minutes by treading water.
The swim test may be waived if you present proof of lifeguarding or water safety instructor certification.
