Event Information

Description

9 Sept 2017. UPDATE: We will not be able to add any paddlers who are not either paddling leaders or have sufficient skills to be safety boaters (able to rescue other paddlers). Other paddlers are welcome to be put on the waiting list in case other members withdraw from the trip. This is a safety issue---we need to maintain a good ratio of leaders and safety boaters to newer, less experienced paddlers. We're at that limit now. Another limit we are hitting is the number of wetsuits available, which will be required for this trip (colder water for sure; cooler air temperatures likely).

If you are a paddling leader or can be a safety boater, contact me directly (don't sign up here).

Welcome to the 2017 edition of the Hoofer Whitewater Fall Colors Trip!

The Bones of It

We'll go up to Hooferland, a wonderful little piece of land up in Northern Wisconsin, and camp two nights. Hooferland is right in the middle of some Choice Wisconsin Whitewater, including, but not limited to, the Red, the Pike, the Peshtigo, and the Wolf. We'll do a run on one of these rivers each day and have a good time around the campfire each night.

What We'll Supply

Food! Boats! Paddling gear! We've also got some camping equipment if you need it.

What You Need

Your person, an R1 rating, and some camping gear. We'll get a proper gear list together closer to the trip.

What it will Cost

Likely in the neighborhood of $60. Will be finalized closer to the trip.

How to Get Ratings

Keep an eye out for pool sessions, lake lessons, and R1 trips. Ask me or a whitewater leader for more information.

Signing Up

Signups will open on August 20th. Keep your eyes peeled!

We're looking for water leaders in the meantime. If you're interested, please sign as an instructor up and let me know!
