Event Information

Description
Trail-building season is here!! For those of you who don't know, the Ice Age Trail is a glorious stretch of 1,000 undulating miles of awesomeness. But! The bushwacking doesn't happen by itself these days, and so the Ice Age Trail Alliance (IATA) needs our help maintaining the trail as well as blazing new stretches. And in case you haven't heard, IT'S WORTH IT JUST FOR THE FOOD, I PRETTY PRETTY PROMISE! :] The awesome volunteer chefs concoct sumptuous hot meals...fo' free.   Connie has also gotten us gas money, so even though this segment is a little over an hour due east toward Waukesha, transportation will also be free. We'll leave Friday night, build trail on Saturday, and return Sunday afternoon (Sunday is a half workday, although we typically finish early). This is a beginner-friendly trip. All you need to provide is some warm layers of clothing and a sleeping bag. The club has tents, sleeping pads, and work gloves for you to use, and the Ice Age Trail Alliance provides everything else you will need including instruction, food, a place to camp and a fire to sit around at night.
You'll need to complete the online registration (https://iceagetrail.z2systems.com/np/clients/iceagetrail/eventRegistration.jsp?event=31&) to let the lovely cooks know how many eggs to scramble and such. When you're signing up on the IATA website, please be sure to indicate in the "Questions or Comments" field that you are with Hoofers. That way they'll assign us to the same working group! Finally, be sure to complete this Google Doc so I can better coordinate transportation and some other things: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1eh29pWXMBw2b320qwXT7YDFEp1bHIAE-tF3HBef97nA/edit#gid=0
