Time for a different kind of fun---paddling in rapids in big boats, that is, sea kayaks and whitewater boats ~8 feet or longer . This will be a chance for sea kayakers (SK1 rating minimal) and whitewater kayakers (R1 minimum) to get together to paddle in the waves and swirly water of Prairie du Sac. This really is a trip for paddlers with at least some moving water experience (paddling at Sac, Badfish Creek or Koshonong Creek before). We'll work on ferries, eddy turns, peel outs and attainments---and just give you a chance to get comfortable in pushy water in bigger boats.
Let's start assembling at 5:00 and quickly depart so that we can get there with sufficient time left for a couple of hours of good paddling. You know what to bring---and yes, we'll likely stop at Culver's afterward. Count on maybe $5/person for gas. - Event Type
