Join us for an evening at Prairie Du Sac on the Wisconsin River! This is an excellent place to learn the basics of whitewater paddling. This trip will qualify you to receive your R1 rating.
To participate, you must have your kayak lake rating, and have passed the swim test.
Meet at Park St. Circle/Memorial Union Boathouse at 5PM to select Club gear (boat, paddle, spray skirt, helmet, PFD, air bladders, paddle jacket/wetsuit). We will leave the Union at 5:30 PM or a little later. You will need to bring a swimsuit, towel, change of dry clothes, river booties or shoes without laces, $6 to pay your driver for gas (if riding as a passenger), and extra money for dinner at Culvers afterward. We'll aim to be back in Madison by 11PM.
