We'll learn the basics of setting a top-rope climbing anchor, including how to place various types of protective gear, how to connect several pieces of gear into an effective anchor, and the elements that make up a solid anchor. The club will provide all necessary gear. Note that while you need not have climbed outdoors before, participants should have some prior climbing experience.
If you're interested in leading club (or personal) climbing trips to Devil's Lake or elsewhere, try to attend this clinic! It will be the first of a series intended to produce capable climbing wonks. - Event Type
