Joint paddle with Mad City Paddlers (MCP), contingent on recruiting a Hoofers Leader. Also open to those in town for HOOFERPALOOZA. Bring your own boat and gear. Here's a copy of the MCP announcement:
MAY 6 (WED) – GOVERNOR’S ISLAND - TRIP LEADER: JONATHAN BEERSJoin Jonathan for an evening paddle on Lake Mendota. In low winds this is suitable for beginners, but waves and motorboat wakes can be difficult for inexperienced lake paddlers. The water may still be cold, so dress accordingly. Turn left on Main Drive into Mendota Mental Health Institute grounds. Then take a left on Cinder Lane. Just before entering the Governor's Island parking lot, follow the gravel road to the left onto a small peninsula.
