Event Information

Description
As announced at the Tues meeting, we will be canoeing Badfish Creek on Sat. Badfish Creek is a nearby stream with fast current and lots of twists and turns, flowing through a scenic rural area with considerable wildlife. This is a great place to refine your river reading and canoe steering skills. You will need to have passed the swim test and taken the canoe lake lesson. Canoers need warm when wet clothing, shoes or boots that can get wet, and extra clothes to change into in case you get immersed. Bring lunch and water to eat at the put-in or along the way. Boaters who do this river with fine style may be able to get the R1 rating out of this trip allowing one to undertake beginner whitewater trips. Kayakers who have some river experience. access to a wetsuit, and a way of transporting a kayak are also invited to join in. I was told at the Tues meeting that the Hoofer gear at Memorial Union will not be accessible on Saturday, so we will be meeting at 2034 Yahara Place 53704 at Madison's east side.
