Event Information

Description
A short hike in the hills just West of Madison on the Table Bluff Ice Age Trail segment by Cross Plains. Get away from the flatland of Madison and see some grand vistas and open space.  We can take advantage of the simultaneous absence of both leaves and snow to see the wondrous shapes of the land that the glaciers carved ten thousand years ago. We will probably be on the trail for about 2 hours and do a fairly easy in and back hike of about 7 km with some up and down. Should be a cool dry day with some wind, so dressing in fleece layers and a removable wind breaker should work nicely. Trails should not have much ice, but might still have muddy spots. Meet noon Sat at Park St Circle (North terminus of Park St by the Memorial Union), and then we will drive to the Table Bluff Rd access NW of Cross Plains. Room for 4 in my car: can add spaces if others drive.
