Who's up for Ragbrai 2015!?! For the unenlightened, this is a 7 day, ~468
mile bike trip across Iowa from July 19 - 25; that's roughly 67 miles
per day. There are 8,500 week long riders and several thousand more
daily riders, bringing the total bike count to over 10,000 each day. I
personally have never been, but I heard it's an experience of a
lifetime. The vibe is hardcore, fun-loving, bad-ass-ness. Some people
treat it as an up-at-6am race to the finish (even though it's not a
race) and others see the main goal as being drunk by mid-morning. The
majority fall somewhere in between and the week is definitely a mixture
of pain and pleasure. The registration cost for the full week is $160,
and additional money will be needed for food and gas. If interested, sign up ASAP because the Ragbrai registration deadline is April 1, 2015, and I would like to form a Hoofers group before then so we can officially register as a group with Ragbrai.
Also, I'd like to start a training program pretty soon to get ready.
