Event Information

Description
Once again we are going to bring John Browning in from Milwaukee to talk about sea kayak risk management.  We did this last year, and as anyone who attended can tell you, John hit the topic right on the mark.  We as a club are going to many more destinations that need this kind of thinking to keep us safe.  Sea kayaking can be a very safe sport, but there is a lot of knowledge that can help us stay that way!We will meet in the Hoofer lounge starting promptly at 9:00.   So, join us again or for the first time for:   Risk Assessment, Risk Management, and Incident Management   Join us for an investigation into these three topics as we explore each to learn more about making our adventures and outings safe and enjoyable for all participants.  Using some case studies we will assess the risks, explore how we would have managed those risks, and how we would have managed the incident given "hind-sight".  In other words, let's learn from others experience so we can exercise better judgment. John is an open water instructor trainer with the ACA, as well as an instructor for Wilderness Medical Associates and a working EMT.
