The snow in Madison is dreadful, so go north for more XC skiing! We're doing a day trip to Nine Mile Forest (near Wausau -- a 2.25 hr drive), which has 29.6 km of trails -- some lighted. Current conditions are good, and the forecast calls for some new snow on Saturday nightThis trip is _not_ for first-timers. We're going to get a full day of skiing in, so if you're not up for it, you'll be spending a lot of time sitting on your behind in the warming hut.
Let me know if you can drive. More drivers mean more spots!The plan:- Meet at the union at 8 am.
- Drive there (2.25 hr)
- Ski until we drop
- Drive back (2.25 hr)
What to bring:- Your own lunch and snacks
- Cash for gas and entrance fee ($12 adult, $7 student)
- A student ID if you have one
- Appropriate clothing
