It's time for telemark skiing at Blackhawk Ski Club, only a quick 20 minutes from downtown Madison! Come enjoy the
slopes, the skiing, the company, and the warming hut at Blackhawk every Wednesday
night this spring. Never tele-skied before? No worries! Hoofers and Blackhawk members will
teach you and the club has plenty of gear (it's possible to use xc skis if you prefer on the smaller hill as well).
Meet at the OutdoorUW space at 6pm if you need to get gear (or if you can't make it that early on Wednesday, show up to the Tuesday night Outing Club meeting and ask folks to let you into the galley to pick out the tele gear). You'll need skis and boots, poles are options (especially if you're a beginner). Also, the number of people who can come depends on the number of drivers available, so please indicate if you can drive (and how many) when you sign up. The rope tows close at 9pm. Folks generally hang out until ~9:30pm near the fires in the warming hut, so you should be back to campus around 10pm (a car could always leave earlier if people want).

GEAR:
-tele skiis/boots (the club has these)
-a warm jacket/hat/snowpants/mittens
-it's a good idea to bring insulated work gloves for the rope tows (or you can buy leather mitten covers there)
The cost for the whole season (typically though mid-March) is $30 for students (bring your ID) or $50 for non-students. Please bring cash to the first tele night you come to, as you will need to pay and sign a waiver to ski.
