Leader: Carl Zimm

Event Information

Description
A short hike in the hills just West of Madison on a Ice Age Trail segment off Lewis St in Cross Plains. Get away from the flatland of Madison and see some open space.  We can take advantage of the simultaneous absence of both leaves and snow to see the wondrous shapes of the land that the glaciers carved ten thousand years ago. We will probably be on the trail for about 2 hours and do a fairly easy hike of about 6 km with some up and down. Should be a cool dry day with little wind, so dressing in fleece layers should work nicely. Trails might not have much ice, but probably still have muddy spots. Meet at Park St Circle (North terminus of Park St by the Memorial Union), and then we will drive to Cross Plains.
