This is the first step in order to paddle kayaks with the club. You need this to go on all Sea and Whitewater Kayaking trips. This lesson introduces you to the gear needed for kayaking, exiting a kayak, kayak rescues, paddle strokes, and rules for taking kayaks out on the lake.
You will need a towel, swim suit, and strap on sandals. It is also nice to have nose plugs and goggles. Wear clothing made primarily of plastic eg polyester shorts and t-shirt. bring a warm top layer just in case the weather is cold.
