Event Information

Description
The Upper Sugar river by Belleville is a local stream with slow current but lots of twists and turns, flowing through a scenic rural area 15km S of Madison with considerable wildlife. This is a great place to refine your river reading and boat steering skills. You will need to have passed the swim test and taken the canoe lake lesson or kayak lake lesson. Kayakers should have some additional experience beyond the lake lesson (lake practice or SK0 or river paddling) or such, and need warm when wet clothing, We will be using the longer WW kayaks since the creek is too shallow and twisty for sea kayaks. Canoers need shoes that can get wet and extra clothes to change into in case you  get wet lifting the canoe around obstacles. Bring lunch and water (84 F day!) to eat at the put=in or along the way. If we get additional drivers, can expand signup.
